Intraoral Scanner

The digital revolution paves the way for the “virtual patient” and, therefore, the possibility of representing all the patient’s tissues (bone, teeth, gums, face) in a single 3D model, in which it is possible to carry out a series of designs of a surgical, prosthetic, and orthodontic nature.

Based on the project, it is possible to physically create the devices necessary for clinical use in the various branches of dentistry (bridges and crowns, implant insertion, invisible orthodontics).

In this context, intraoral scanners represent powerful devices for detecting the impression of teeth and gums.

WHAT IS AN INTRAORAL SCANNER?

The intraoral scanner is a device that collects information about the shape and size of the dental arches and teeth (or the position of dental implants) by emitting a light beam recaptured by high-resolution cameras. The information collected by these cameras is processed by powerful software, which accurately reconstructs the 3D model of the desired structures.

Digital impressions are highly appreciated by patients, as virtual models of the patients are obtained that can be saved on the computer or on an external memory device, or sent by email to the dental laboratory.
